Receivership in Scotland
Scotland has its own receivership code in sections 50 to 71 of the Insolvency Act 1986. A receiver is appointed by the holder of a floating charge and takes control of the property it covers. Since 15 September 2003 most new floating charges can only lead to administration, so receiverships are now rare and usually involve older charges or capital-market exceptions.
Other procedures: Winding up by the court · Creditors' voluntary liquidations · Members' voluntary liquidations · Administrations · Winding-up petitions.
